This is a stoneware stein illustrating the history and different representations the American eagle has gone over through time. Its achieved by using a wrap-around design and accented by a pewter emblem with gold highlights at the center. The pewter emblem is that of the 'The Great Seal and The Shield of 1885'. The seal depicts an eagle grasping an olive branch with one set of talons and thirteen arrows with the other. A shield with thirteen stripes rests in front of the chest of the eagle and a cluster of thirteen stars surrounded by sunrays stretching to clouds above. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon with the words, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” (meaning “One out of many”) which is largely the motto of the
United States.
This prestigious limited edition stein is made of high quality craftsmanship. The firm body of the stein is glazed in black and blue, and an ornamental lid is decorated by rows of raised stars. The lid is wonderfully capped of with a perched pewter eagle figurine with wings spread wide. The thumblift itself is also made of a pewter eagle. Strong and proud, this stein recognizes the
